• Euclid lived around 300 B.C.
• He is called the father of Geometry.
• His geomtery book, Elements, is the most read book of all time in all Mathematics.
• He seemed to build up all of the geometric shapes from the fewest, simplest starting pieces of a point, line, plane, and space - and from the very simple first 5 postulates.
• His main method of building shapes and relationships was by proof - just pure thought.
• Elements is considered one of the starters for modern mathematics and science. It is thought of as both beautiful and influential.
